Lefteris Sallas is the founder of Avingdon Ltd and has 30 years’ real estate experience in the residential and mixed-use development arenas.

Prior to establishing Avingdon in 2008, Lefteris was Acquisitions & Development Director for the UNITE Group plc. Whilst at UNITE from 2001 to 2007, Lefteris was responsible for the initiation and delivery of a number of highly successful purpose-built student accommodation projects; helping towards UNITE significantly expanding its London portfolio and capturing market share leader advantage. Lefteris also played a key role in the launch and implementation of the landmark £350m Capital Cities joint venture with GIC RE, the Government of Singapore’s real estate arm.

From 1998 to 2001, Lefteris worked within Rotch Property Group’s Student Housing Investment Team, where he concentrated upon originating, structuring and executing long-dated university/housing association-backed lease transactions, as well as leading consortia bids on major student accommodation PFI/PPP projects.

As part of his early career from 1992 to 1998, Lefteris worked at the Peabody Trust where he was involved in the development of various pioneering mixed-use urban regeneration schemes, in addition to several innovative key worker, live-work and student housing projects.

Over the past 20 years, Lefteris has advised upon/delivered over £2.5bn of purpose-built student accommodation projects across the UK, and has built up a wealth of industry knowledge and contacts.

Lefteris holds a BSc in Urban Estate Management and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is also a member of the Management Committee (Board) at Old Etonian Housing Association.
